Houston’s own Megan Thee Stallion has announced that she will hold her first virtual concert during the COVID-19 pandemic on August 29, 2020 at 6 p.m. Tickets are available for $15. The show will feature the rising star with creative direction from JaQuel Knight. Knight is best known for his work with Beyoncé and choreographing the “W.A.P” video.
Meg is not the only artist to test out the virtual concert method. Most recently, Aminé performed his entire sophomore album, Limbo, along with cuts from ONEPOINTFIVE via YouTube. Lil’ Uzi Vert has also announced that he will test out the virtual concert wave on August 27, 2020. Tickets for his show are also $15.

Elsewhere, festivals have tried out their virtual capabilities. The Roots Picnic, Lolapalooza and many other festivals have tired out virtual performances.
As for in-person festivals, those still feel like a lifetime away. However, early reports suggests that Coachella could test out having a festival next spring with limited capacity.
