When I think of Hip Hop, more than music comes to mind. Hip Hop embodies an entire culture. It shapes the way a person thinks, their swagger, style and the list goes on.
Hip Hop is gradually evolving and ushering new forms of expression. Whether you’re an enthusiast who seeks lyrics, storytelling or just looking for music to have a good time and party, it’s important to know as well as pay homage to those who paved the way. In other words, do your homework.
Today the Hip Hop culture has found different avenues to provide such history listens, i.e; Netflix’s hit series “The Get Down”, just to provide a quick example. But there is only but so much you can focus on the past as here in present day we are looking to make our mark on history.
That brings us to “The Robinsons”. Not sure who they are? well, if you love Hip Hop, they’re considered the “First Family Of Hip Hop” due large in part to their Sugarhill Records which was established in the 1970s! Putting rap on the map and becoming a cultural phenomenon, the doors are now wide open for the younger generation of The Robinsons to make an impact.
