If you had a Tyler, The Creator and Maxo Kream collaboration on your bingo card, you are better than most. Seemingly out of nowhere, the Los Angeles native connected with the Dallas star for a new record called “Big Persona.” Complete with big horns and aggressive production that is reminiscent of his Wolf, the new single comes at you fast with Tyler, The Creator verse that is backed by an addictive hook that would be incredibly fun to chant at a live show. Then, Maxo Kream comes in to steal the show and proclaim himself the “Trap Barack Obama.”
“Maxo Biggie Poppa, who you know that do it better?/I’m the trap Barack Obama, Betty Crocker, used to pedal/Straight mixin’ drugs but he love Nutty Professor with Griselda/Pockets kill, man, it keep poppin’/I make more money than professors/Bitch, I’m gettin’ cake,” the Dallas native raps.
This is the latest addition to an incredible 2021 resume for Tyler, The Creator. He’s currently leading the “Album of the Year” race with Call Me If You Get Lost and he just racked up four nominations at the 2021 BET Hip-Hop Awards. Could the Grammys be next?
Meanwhile, Maxo Kream is rekindling the fire he started with his 2019 standout project, Brandon Banks. For months, he’s been teasing fans with his Album Mode series, but he recently returned with the “Local Joker” video. With this record, it feels like his next album is inching closer to its release date.
