Rep. Maxine Waters was caught on camera pulling over to monitor a traffic stop in Los Angeles on Sunday. Waters was driving her Black SUV when she spotted officers pulling over a Black motorist. She immediately jumped out and monitored the situation. The Congresswoman says that officers threatened her with a ticket, but she stood her ground anyway.
“They say I’m in the wrong place,” she said.
“They’re going to give me a ticket, but that’s OK, as long as I watch them,” she added.

At one point, the California legislator can be heard having a back and forth with a bystander.
“You gotta do what you gotta do,” the bystander said.
“I will,” Waters answers.
At this time, it’s unclear what the traffic stop was for. Furthermore, it is unclear if the officers did follow through on the threat to ticket the representative.
