There seemed to be no possible way things could get worse for the Dallas Mavericks after the news of Chandler Parsons injury was reported earlier. Until now.
They have an ongoing issue with their point guard, Rajon Rondo. He has been at the forefront of issues with the team all season, particularly with their coach, Rick Carlisle. It’s made some second guess the midseason trade that saw the Mavs give up 3 important assets for the troublesome point guard.
Now, it appears that Rondo’s time in Dallas is done. Despite the fact that the team is in the middle of a playoff push and needs a legitimate starting point guard to compete in the Western Conference and try to keep up in their current series with the Houston Rockets.
ESPN sources says Mavs are ruling out Rajon Rondo indefinitely after back injury he sustained in Game 2

The team says a ‘back injury’ but it may as well be a reason to send Rondo away from the team facility and just bench him for the remainder of his tenure with the Mavs. If Rondo’s injury was all that serious, why did he spend the entire second half of their loss to the Rockets on the bench? Questions that may remain to be unanswered as time goes on.
The relationship has been nothing but drama filled from the start and Rondo hasn’t done anything to prove that he is willing to stay with the team.
Lakers nation needs to be prepared now because all signs are pointing towards Rondo leaving Dallas in free agency and joining up with his breakfast buddy, Kobe Bryant.
