As the Dallas Mavericks continue to try and throw their best punch against Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder, they continue to fight as veteran leaders fall to injuries.
In game four of the first round series, both David Lee and point guard Deron Williams came into the contest fighting nagging injuries. Shortly into the game, Williams left the game and it was quickly determined that he would miss the remainder of the playoffs not just the first round series and he might not be the only one out for the rest of the first round.
Despite playing 16 minutes in the Mavs loss, Lee left the game and it appears that his plantar fascia injury returned and now, with the Mavs back against the wall, he won’t be able to suit up.
Following from ESPN’s Tim MacMahon.
Mavs PF/C David Lee, who played the last two games with partially torn plantar fascia in his right foot, is out for the rest of the series.
