The Dallas Mavericks and shooting guard John Jenkins have agreed upon a three year contract. The deal is only partially guaranteed according to sources. The deal is going to be worth the veteran’s minimum. Following from Shams Charania of RealGM:

Jenkins hasn’t made much noise in the NBA since being drafted 23rd overall in the 2012 NBA Draft. The deal has it structured as his contract being fully guaranteed for next year but only partially guaranteed the two years after that. Jenkins expressed his excitement to have another shot at his NBA dream:
Guess word got out quick lol. Can't thank the @dallasmavs enough for this great opportunity, me and my family are truly blessed!!

Jenkins last played for the Atlanta Hawks where he averaged 5.6 points per game in 13.8 minutes over his three year career. The Mavericks made a pretty good deal here. Jenkins does have some upside to him given that he is only going into his fourth year and hasn’t had much of an opportunity to show his true worth. He’s also a sharpshooter, as he boasts a career three point percentage of 37.5. Overall this shouldn’t be a huge signing but it could be end up paying dividends in the future.
