The Dallas Mavericks are, for some reason, putting a lot of focus on Chandler Parsons and whether they should pay him max or not.
I personally don’t see why they should bow down to him. On the court he doesn’t do much that deserves a max deal. If another team offers him max then I think they should let him go. It’s their funeral.
And it seems that they’re taking the precautions in case they can’t cater for Parsons, they have their list of possible replacements.
The Mavs have identified Orlando Magicrestricted free agent Evan Fournier and unrestricted free agents Kent Bazemore, Evan Turner and Marvin Williams as possible replacements for Parsons if they have cap space to spend on a small forward, according to a source.
Kent Bazemore is liked by a lot of teams, it’ll be hard for the Hawks to keep him. Fournier would be a great replacement, his past season was very productive. Evan Turner would be the most solid replacement and I think he’d work very well in the Mavericks playbook.
Seriously Dallas, if you can get one of those three, let Chandler go. He really isn’t worth the max.
