Matthew Dellavedova Taken To Hospital With Severe Cramping After Game 3

Matthew Dellavedova experienced “severe cramping,” per the Cavs, and required an IV after putting up 20 points in 39 minutes. Dellavedova left on a stretcher according to multiple eye witnesses, but the Akron Beacon-Journal reports that was precautionary, and Dellavedova walked to the ambulance. He was then admitted to receive additional treatment. The Cleveland Cavaliers said they would provide an update on his status later on this afternoon.

Delly was once again phenomenal last night, and finished the game with 20 points, 4 assists and 5 rebounds.  The Aussie simply plays solid defense, and he continues to give the Golden State Warriors fits with his play on both ends of the court.

“He’s one of those guys that comes early and leaves late,”

said Cavaliers shooting guard, Iman Shumpert.

“He leaves it all on the floor. He dives on the floor every single play it seems like.  He gets cut in the face, gets elbowed, gets scratched and just keeps on fighting. Delly is the most Cleveland-like Australian that I’ve ever met in my life, if you’re from Cleveland, you know just what I’m talking about.”

said Cavaliers head coach David Blatt.

LeBron James glowed about his backup point guard who came up with 20 points in his second game starting for Irving in the Finals, saying

“He’s made of steel. He gives us everything until the tank is empty and he’s got a little reserve.”

Unfortunately that reserve ran out as well. Cramping seems to be a consistent issue for the Cavaliers, with Iman Shumpert and James both suffering from it against the Hawks in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

I hope he’s OK, because so far his overall play has been a killer. Game 4 is Thursday night at Quicken Loans Arena.
