The Atlanta Falcons are quietly one of the hottest teams in football. Winners of 4 straight, the Falcons are capping off one of the best scoring offenses in NFL history. Now that the playoffs are about to begin, quarterback Matt Ryan said he doesn’t feel any added pressure on himself.
“I don’t think so,” Ryan said via the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “We’ve won in the playoffs before. I don’t really worry about that too much. For me, it’s about how do we get the one win next week, whoever it’s going to be against. I think putting any more pressure on yourself, other than that, is a waste of time.”
Ryan hasn’t been the best performer in postseason play carrying a record of just 1-4. All of those losses came under former head coach Mike Smith. This go around will feature Dan Quinn and more importantly offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan. The Falcons OC deserves a lot of credit for Ryan’s career year and is in line for a head coaching job.
Matt Ryan had a career year in 2016 throwing for 4,944 yards, 38 touchdowns, and a QBR of 83.1.
