Clark, a black man, was unarmed when he was shot eight times by Sacramento Police. He was 22 years old. Clark’s death sparked mass outrage and protests in Sacramento.
Barnes planned a march for Clark in Sacramento and attended the funeral. New Orleans Pelicans center DeMarcus Cousins, who spent the first six-and-a-half years of his career with the Sacramento Kings, reportedly offered to pay for Clark’s funeral.
Kings guard Garrett Temple, who has spoken out about Clark’s death and police violence, joined Barnes on stage at the rally:

Barnes was not the first to have the idea of paying for the education of Clark’s children. On Wednesday, the Kings announced a plan to set up an education fund for Clark’s children.
