Matt Barnes is, somehow, STILL going on about the Derek Fisher incident from this past October. He was suspended 2 games for his original actions, and he’s still talking. Yesterday he spoke about it, saying:
“I know I got to keep my mouth shut because then he’ll run and tell,” Barnes said. “So we’re focused on playing that team (the Knicks). And when I’m retired, him and I will cross paths again.”
Sounds pretty ominous, huh? Barnes isn’t done, either. He’s still talking about it today.
Per Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News:
Matt Barnes on October incident: "Violence is never the answer, but sometimes it is. And unfortunately, it happened. I don’t regret it."

Wow. That’s a quote of the year candidate, along with about 20 Evan Turner quotes.
“Violence is never the answer, but sometimes it is.” What a line. This Barnes-Fisher drama, while entertaining, is not a great look for the league. I’d be surprised if Barnes doesn’t get suspended(and/or fined) again. Barnes advocating violence reflects on the NBA, and Adam Silver can’t be pleased about that. Matt Barnes is startlingly immature, and he needs to grow up and learn to be a professional.
