After a judge gave the green light to Donald Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, to promote her new book, she sat down for a interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. During the sit-down, she discusses everything from growing up in the Trump family to her issues with the Trump presidency.
“He’s utterly incapable of leading this country — and it’s dangerous to allow him to do so,” she said about her uncle’s ability to lead.
During the interview, she reminisces on an encounter she had with her uncle at the White House just months after he was elected. Coming face to face with the President, she told him, “Don’t let them get you down.”
“He already seemed very strained by the pressures. He had never been in a situation before where he wasn’t entirely protected from criticism or accountability or things like that, and I just remember thinking, ‘He seems tired,’” she continued.
Later on in the interview, she touched upon a family secret. She claims that the President had someone take SAT for him before applying to the University of Pennsylvania. She noted that he asked “a smart kid with a reputation for being a good test taker to take his SATs for him.” His niece expounded upon the matter by saying, “Donald, who never lacked for funds, paid his buddy well.”
In closing, she emphatically stated that her uncle was not fit to be President of the United States and that he should resign.
“If you’re in the Oval Office today, what would you say to him?” Stephanopoulos asked.
“Resign,” she answered.
