Grammy award winning singer Mary J. Blige looks to leave her imprint on television, signing a first-look deal with Lionsgate.
The multi-talented singer/actress/songwriter now adds producer to her many titles. The first-look TV deal will develop and produce a series through Mary J. Blige’s company Blue Butterfly Productions. Mary J. Blige’s deal with Lionsgate also includes the opportunity to produce across their various platforms.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be working with Lionsgate,” said Mary J. Blige, reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Lionsgate is equally excited to bring the R&B legend on to their team.

Most recently, Mary J. Blige played roles on Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy and the 2017 film Mudbound, the latte earning the star Academy award nominations. Mary J, Blige also earned the BET Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2019 live televised ceremony, presented by Rihanna.
