With an illustrious career that spans across two decades and having thirteen studio albums under her belt, it’s safe to say that Mary J. Blige has accomplished plenty in her career. Know as the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, Mary’s influence over R&B is surely widespread as she continues to be a great example of musical longevity.
Still working and gearing up to hit the road with Nas this Summer, it gets even better for Mary with the announcement that she will be the recipient of BET’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2019 BET Awards.
Going down on June 23 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. ET, Mary J. Blige will join the likes of other R&B staples, Charlie Wilson, New Edition, and many others. More than deserving, we can’t wait to see the performances that will be equipped with Mary J. Blige’s honor. Mary will also join the likes of Tyler Perry, who will also be honored. H.E.R., Migos, Lucky Daye and more are slated to take the stage as performers.
