Devin Harris is returning to the Eastern Conference after the Atlanta Hawks dealt Marvin Williams to Utah to acquire the former All-Star. Williams was taken with the number 2 pick in the 2005 draft, ahead of Chris Paul, was an underachiever with the Hawks and never truly lived up to the expectation of his high draft ranking.
Harris, who played with Dallas and New Jersey before landing in Salt Lake City, is entering the final year of his deal and is due to make $8.5 million this season. The move was the second major move made by the Hawks yesterday as they shed over $105 million worth of payroll (long term), and took back just $23.5 million.
