Marvin Williams is fresh off a resurgent season with the Charlotte Hornets and he was in high demand this summer. The free agent stretch four was getting looks from many teams around the NBA but eventually, he elected to return.
Williams was a top priority for the Hornets after they re-signed Nicolas Batum and they got their man. They may have lost out on Jeremy Lin and Al Jefferson but they keep their top two free agents.

Free-agent forward Marvin Williams has agreed to a four-year, $54.5 million deal to stay with the Charlotte Hornets, league sources told The Vertical.
Williams had offers in the $15 million-a-year range to leave the Hornets – the Brooklyn Nets seriously pursued him – but his comfort with the franchise and coach Steve Clifford, and the chance to return to build on the team’s 2016 playoff berth led him to stay for less money, league sources said.
Williams’ agent, Jim Tanner of Tandem Sports, completed the talks with Charlotte general manager Rich Cho on Saturday afternoon, sources said.
David Aldridge from Turner Sports added more information on Williams’ contract.
As Woj reported, 4/$54.5 for Marvin Williams to remain in Charlotte. Player option fourth year, per sources.
