When you read that title you probably thought ‘Ok it’s a Marvel movie, but who the hell are The Eternals?’ To give you a brief history, here’s a little blurb (Via Marve Comics):
When the Celestials visited Earth five million years ago and performed genetic experiments on early proto-humanity, they created two divergent races: the long-lived Eternals, and the genetically unstable and monstrously grotesque Deviants. These experiments also led to the capacity for super-powered mutations in humans. They also performed this experiment on other planets (such as the Kree and Skrull homeworlds) with similar results.
If you’re a fan you’ll recognize the Kree and the Skrull species as integral parts in the current storyline that the studio has with Captain Marvel, which will release in 2019 with Brie Larson as their first female superhero.
The ‘Avengers’ studio has been quiet regarding their plans for phase 4 of their universe except the fact that it will start directly after the events that will happen in ‘Avengers 4’ (the 4th installment of the franchise will be the ‘part 2’ of ‘Infinity War’).
The Eternals will reportedly begin filming in September 2019 in hopes of catapulting the Marvel Universe to its’ 4th phase.
