Marvel has said that their upcoming Netflix exclusive TV shows will “have a loose connection” to their films.
Total Film is reporting that Marvel president Kevin Feige confirmed the news at the CineEurope Europe event in Barcelona.
“But because it is Marvel, we do think they will all fall under the umbrella of the Cinematic Universe, the way Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD does now, the way the Agent Carter series will,” said Feige. “So I do think that Daredevil and Jessica Jones and the other ones will have a loose connection to the overall storyline.”
The first show to debut on Netflix will be ‘Daredevil’ which will air sometime in 2015 and will star Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio and Rosario Dawson.
Three more shows also in the works are ‘Jessica Jones’, ‘Luke Cage’, and ‘Iron Fist’. All four heroes from the four shows will then team up for a short mini-series titled ‘The Defenders’.
