At the very start of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ there is an insane easter egg that hints at one of the most entertaining superheroes in the Marvel cinematic universe. When Thanos was close to killing all Asgardians, he mentioned that he had found the first infinity stone in a world called Nova.
That wasn’t the first time we were introduced to the world. In the first ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ movie, the Guardians have to deal with a threat that would destroy Nova and the Nova Corp sacrificed themselves in order to help save the Guardians.
Now, this brings in Nova. The superhero that dawns a helmet that gives superhuman abilities to him. Reportedly, Marvel has been planning his appearance in the universe for quite some time.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Fiege said this last year (Per ComicBookMovie):
“[We] have a big board with a bunch of characters that have more immediate potential, Nova is on that board. Because of the connection to the Guardians universe, because there are more than one examples to pull from in the comics that are interesting. And you’re absolutely right, he was in the earliest drafts of the [Guardians of the Galaxy].”
The superhero has been featured in animated shows being friends with Peter Parker and in Comic books being part of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Regardless of how they introduce him, the ‘Super-Nova’ is on his way to the MCU.
