The official title for Marvel and Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man has officially been released! Just last week, some found out that Sony registered a new domain, “SpiderManHomeComingTheMovie.Com”, which led many to believe that the official title of the 2017 film would be and now we know that it is indeed a fact. During Cinema-Con 2016, Tom Holland, the new found Marvel and Sony star appeared and the official logo was revealed.
Spider-Man: Homecoming — slick play on words — is the official title for the film set to release in theaters July 2017. With the title being Spider-Man: Homecoming — a slick play on words — one can only note the obvious, as this movie will welcome Spidey back home in the Marvel universe. Another thing to note with the title is the reference to the 1984 The Amazing Spider-Man #252. Kevin Fiege recently went on-record to say that Marvel characters can appear within Spider-Man movies and that they actually will. In the 1984 released comic, Captain America, Iron Man and Thor all appeared in this comic. Although there aren’t any details on the plot of the upcoming film, this is something worth noting.
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will appear in Captain America: Civil War on May 6. You can pre-order your tickets to your local theaters on Fandango.
