Marvel and Jimmy Kimmel Live! Are starting to be come synonymous when it comes to debuting teaser trailers. Back when Marvel’s announced their movies for Phase 3, many were excited. Black Panther, Infinity War’s, Spider-Man, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, Doctor Strange and plenty more. Somewhere along the line, amongst the casual fan and some Marvel die-hard’s, Doctor Strange started to get swept under the rug.
Today the talk of Marvel’s legendary sorcerer begins. Benedict Cumberbatch will star as Stephen Strange, the neurosurgeon who almost lost his life in a fatal car crash. On his road to recovery, Strange crosses paths with his new found mentor, The Ancient One, who’s played by Tilda Swinton. The Ancient One trains Strange to use the power of magic to become the protector of Earth. On this journey, Strange will be introduced to the different dimensions of the universe.
Earlier in the day, before the premiere of the trailer, Collider released more of their interview with Kevin Fiege. Forge talked about the 3D presence seen throughout Doctor Stange. Forge describes it as a “tool”.
Yes, as a matter of fact. We were in VFX reviews the other day, one of the first ones for that movie — we just wrapped, we finished in New York…we did one of the first reviews and it was pretty exciting. It was pretty cool in terms of how 3D can serve that story. You know, sometimes 3D is a tool, like it is in Civil War, a tool of –another toy in the sandbox of how the Russos (Joe and Anthony) can present this movie, then there are times like what Disney is putting out with The Jungle Book –it’s certainly gonna be the case with Doctor Strange– that it serves the storytelling, that it advances the storytelling. And hopefully it helps bend people’s minds even more than with just the flat screen.
November 4th is the day Doctor Strange will invade theaters nationwide. Check out the Doctor Strange teaser trailer below.
