After the cancellation of the highly popular Netflix show Daredevil, Marvel has hinted in a recent release that this might not be the last we have heard from Matt Murdoch and his alter ego Daredevil. In the announcement that came on November 30th, Marvel thanked it’s fans and the cast and crew of the popular MCU show, but it was the last line of the release that caught the eyes of many.
“We look forward to more adventures with the Man without Fear in the future”
Although it was small and frustratingly vague, Marvel alluded to the fact that they aren’t done with the character. Whether it be on the big screen or Disney’s new streaming platform Disney+ coming in 2019, what is clear is that we will be seeing Hell’s Kitchen’s favorite hero again.
Daredevil was the only show related to the MCU that Marvel made an official statement about. Fans are still waiting for the release of season 3 of Jessica Jones and season 2 of Punisher it is safe to say that we will be saying farewell to those two characters.
Upon the release of the show in 2015, Daredevil has quickly become one of the most successful MCU live action shows on Netflix. The show received a 99% approval rating for its debut season.
Although we have to say goodbye, for now, we can take solace in the fact that we will be seeing the franchise again in the near future. We don’t know when or where, but keep an eye out for Matt Murdoch, Foggy Nelson, and Karen Page.
