Marvel Co-Creator, author, publisher, comic book writer, and legend Stan Lee has died.
The infamous comic book writer and cameo legend Stan Lee has passed away today. He was 95 years old.
There is no one in the superhero community that is as big of a legend as Stan Lee. He’s virtually been involved in the creation of all your beloved Marvel superheroes and villains. He created Black Panther, Spider-Man, X-Men, The Mighty Thor, Iron Man, The Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, Daredevil, Ant-Man … just to name a few.
Lee began the business in 1939 and helped Marvel comics grow from a dinky office for nerds that love comics to a global superhero franchise which has had numerous movies and TV adaptations. The MCU has grossed over $4 billion in profit so there’s no surprise that when it was sold to Disney earlier this year, the company sold for around the same price.
Throughout the end of his life, Lee had been involved in a lot of domestic issues, one rumor even citing an issue of ‘elderly abuse’. He also sued his ex-business manager and filed for a restraining order against a man who had been handling his affairs. (Lee’s estate was estimated to be worth as much as $70 million.)
The superhero community now mourns the loss of a legend and there is no one who can deny Lee’s impact on the universe of comics and movies. He will be missed by fans of comics worldwide.
