Fans have been clamoring for a follow-up to Bad Boys II since it released in 2003. The long-awaited threequel has been rumored to be in development multiple times over the last 15 years. However, none of those attempts have been fruitful until now. It was rumored that a script was gaining real traction since as early as last September but no concrete details had come out until now.
Jerry Bruckheimer looks set to produce again but Michael Bay, a producer on the first two installments isn’t expected to return. Chris Brenner and Joe Carnahan wrote the script. Carnahan is known best for his work writing The A-Team reboot and The Grey. This is Brenner’s screenwriter credit.
No plot details or casting information have been announced but both Lawrence and Smith are set to return. The film is in production now with a tentative January 17, 2020 release date.
