The Seattle Seahawks and all pro tail back Marshawn Lynch have agreed upon a restructured contract. Lynch will be receiving a significant raise in 2015. After threatening to retire Lynch has decided to return after agreeing to the pay raise.
The deal is for one year worth 11 million. Beast mode will receive a 9 million dollar signing bonus, a 1 million dollar base salary, and 1 million dollar roster bonus. Lynch was originally owed 8.5 million under his old deal. The 2.5 million dollar pay raise may have been the difference in swaying his decision to return. After all he will need the raise to cover the fines he has been receiving from the league.
The Seahawks season ended in controversy after quarterback Russell Wilson threw an interception on the one yard line. Lynch recently spoke to a Turkish Sports Network following the Superbowl loss.
“To be honest with you, I would be lying if I didn’t tell you that I was expecting the ball,”
Lynch will now return to Seattle in a quest for his 3rd Superbowl appearance in as many years. Beast Mode currently ranks 35th all time in career rushing yards with 8,695 in only 7 short seasons.
