If you thought you were quick to snatch up Marshawn Lynch in your fantasy football league based off the news of his possible return, well, you might want to cancel that addition. News broke last night of a possible return out of retirement for ‘Beast Mode’ but it appears that might not be the case.
Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio broke news on Thursday Night’s NFL pregame show. He reported that Lynch was thinking about making an NFL comeback. The target was week four or five for a possible Lynch un-retirement but less than 24 hours later, those rumors have been killed.
Lynch’s former Seattle Seahawks teammate and backfield partner for three seasons, fullback Michael Robinson, spoke about the possibility of Marshawn Lynch returning on a recent periscope session. He sums it up pretty nicely, just simply don’t believe the hype.
“I called Beast Mode,” Robinson said on a Periscope session Friday. “Record this, everybody, please. Marshawn Lynch is retired. He told me from his own mouth. He said, ‘Dude, I’m not going anywhere. I’m as busy as I’ve ever been.’ He’s in Africa, he’s in Australia, he’s all over this world helping people.”
That appears to be all she wrote on a possible Lynch return. Don’t get excited, don’t add Lynch to any fantasy football squads and don’t expect him to take over for Thomas Rawls.
