The NBA Finals are tomorrow. Finally. NBA fans are presumably dancing in the streets, already placing orders for multiple pies of pizza and have called all of their friends to come over and enjoy the game, or they’re just going to sit on their couch and tweet about it like most people will. Either way, it’s finally getting under way tomorrow.
As the Golden State Warriors will host the Cleveland Cavaliers in game 1 of the NBA Finals, it appears that some members of the Dubs aren’t afraid of the daunting task that is defending LeBron James. Contrary to popular belief, you can not stop LeBron James, you can only slow him down.
According to Warriors big man Marreese Speights, who is fresh off an injury, it can be done. As Diamond Leung of the Mercury News reports, in a pre-finals media scrum.
Marreese Speights on stopping LeBron James: "Yeah it can be done. We're the best team in the NBA."

Marreese Speights on stopping LeBron James: “Yeah it can be done. We’re the best team in the NBA.”
That’s quite a statement from Speights. Marreese isn’t shy in making brash remarks, as we’ve in the past, but this one might take the cake. It’s the NBA Finals and he’s talking about stopping possibly the most unstoppable force in the NBA in LeBron James. No one can stop LeBron James you can only hope to slow him down and disrupt his rhythm and get him out of his game. (You remember the 2011 Dallas Mavericks, right?) But stopping him, almost impossible.
One thing might be more believable and that is the statement about the Warriors being the best team in the NBA. They finished with the best record in the league along with the league’s best defense and offense so, he might actually have a true statement there.
Hopefully LeBron doesn’t hear this statement because much like we have ‘playoff Rondo’, there is also ‘finals LeBron’. The only thing is, much like Rondo, which version of ‘The King’ will show up?
