
Marreese Speights has spent the last couple of seasons with the Golden State Warriors. He went back-to-back NBA finals as a part of the team’s rotation, winning a ring with the team in 2015.
Speights has been in the Dubs big man rotation, performing well as a stretch big. With the Warriors adding Kevin Durant, they needed to shred some salary and Speights was one of the victims. Now, he is joining one of the Warriors biggest rivals.

Free agent Marreese Speights has reached agreement on a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, league sources told The Vertical.
The Golden State Warriors lost the flexibility to retain Speights after the arrival of free agent Kevin Durant and the signing of David West, clearing the way for Speights to reach a deal with the Clippers.
Speights joins the Clippers to add some frontcourt depth as other players head out of town. Cole Aldrich signed a deal to join the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Clippers didn’t have too much money to spend.
Speights joins them as an NBA champion and a guy with some experience. Expect him to get some run with the second unit.
