Washington forward Marquese Chriss is an intriguing prospect because of his athleticism and high ceiling. In his one season at Washington, Chriss averaged 13.7 PPG, 5.4 RPG, and 1.6 BPG. Just 18 years old, he has a high ceiling, but a low floor.
Def Pen’s Mock Draft has Chriss being drafted 8th overall to the Sacramento Kings, but don’t tell him that. According to ESPN’s Andy Katz, he recently said where he would like to be drafted:
Washington’s Marquese Chriss says Phoenix hasn’t promised him but he hopes he goes to Suns (only visit he took). Bos, Minn, NO watched him in LA
Chriss doesn’t look like he will go in the top 3, so he will probably be available at the 4th pick. Do the Suns need him though? They do have a couple of big men on the roster, but Tyson Chandler is getting old. With the Suns new core of young players already on the team, it would be nice to add Chriss to that mix as a power forward. He is only 18 at the moment, so playing him off of the bench would be a good idea for the Suns. For now, he would be a solid role player while they are still building their team.
