Marquese Chriss has been the consensus ‘sexy pick’ to skyrocket in the draft. Out of any of the projected top 10 picks, he’s the most unknown but the most intriguing by far. The Washington Huskies product has a tremendous amount of upside but what do we really know about him?
Initially, he was projected to be a mid-first-round selection but his impressive team workouts with squads like the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers have paid dividends in his rising stock. His versatile skillset has helped him climb draft boards. The 19-year-old Chriss is an explosive leaper and rim protector on defense, and scouts are high on his ability to stretch the floor with his shooting along with his height, standing at 6’10”.
Many mock drafts have him going in the top 10 and even a top five pick, going as early as the Phoenix Suns with the fourth overall pick.
Which such a tremendous talent in the waiting for NBA teams, it’s almost a no-brainer to have him sign a shoe and apparel deal and there’s no better place to do it than Nike. Chriss will join fellow 2016 NBA Draft hopefuls in Buddy Hield and Ben Simmons as players who signed Nike deals this summer.
