Last week when the Los Angeles Dodgers and their former manager Don Mattingly mutually agreed to part ways, it was all but expected that Mattingly would be taking the Miami Marlins job.
One week later, it appears that those fortunes have come true and Mattingly will be named the new manager of the Miami Marlins. Nothing has been announced yet as the MLB tends to frown upon teams making big announcements during the World Series.
Following from Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
Don Mattingly, long eyed as the choice of owner Jeffrey Loria to revive the Marlins, has agreed to take the Miami managing job, sources confirm.
Mattingly has seemd to be a fait accompli in Miami since he and the Dodgers parted ways late last week. Loria has been targeting him as the replacement for Dan Jennings since late summer, and the sides made it happen after what was described as a very positive meeting Monday.

Mattingly, who is one of two managers to lead his team to three consecutive division titles over the past three years, will be taking over a franchise down on their luck but headlined by superstar outfielder, Giancarlo Stanton.
Stanton got a huge deal from the Marlins and the team is obviously being built around him and his talents but how long will the Marlins allow Mattingly to stay in Miami? They don’t exactly have the best track record with managers and Mattingly will now be their fourth different manager since they moved to Miami in 2012.
