I’ve watched my fair share of Law & Order. I’ve watched the Samuel L Jackson version of “Shaft”. I watch Murder in the First. Those things make court cases sound so quick, like it takes a few days and then the case is closed. But in reality, it’s stupid long and I’m wondering why it’s taken months to sort out the Assault case on Markieff and Marcus Morris.
The incident happened months ago, I covered it, I barely remember it. It was that long ago. And now I’m hearing that the Morris Twins and their lawyers are sending it back to the Grand Jury.
The defense attorneys for Marcus and Markieff Morris have asked a Maricopa County Superior Court judge to return the case to a grand jury because they say prosecutors falsely presented information that led to an indictment on charges of aggravated assault.
Prosecutors presented “false and misleading evidence” and withheld information vital to the case, the Morris twins’ attorneys said in motion to return the case to a grand jury to determine whether there is probable cause to indict the NBA players.
This all came off an incident that happened in late January. It’s August! Who wants a bet that the season will start before this is resolved? Marcus Morris has moved teams in the time they’ve taken. Deflate-gate will finish before this.
