The Dallas Mavericks have had a bevy of interesting decisions when it comes to transactions. They have had very little success in free agency and the draft and have had several trades end poorly.
But Mavs owner Mark Cuban has his own idea of what his worst mistake as the leader of the team has been: not-resigning Steve Nash.
Cuban on #Mavs not re-signing Nash: "We certainly didn’t see him as a 2-time MVP. And it was the biggest mistake I made not re-signing him."

"We thought his body would break down and it certainly didn’t. So bad advice, bad across the board." — Cuban on #Mavs not re-signing Nash

Steve Nash played in Dallas from 1998 to 2004. While he was a good player in that time and created a dynamic duo with Dirk Nowitzki, Nash was hardly the Hall of Fame player he ended up being.
As Mark Cuban mentioned, there were worries about his injury history as well. It was certainly not an easy decision for the Mavs, but in hindsight it was an incredibly poor one. Nash went on to win two MVP’s and become one of the best point guards of all time in Phoenix.
