With all this ‘Kobe Bryant Farewell Tour’ we forget that there are other veterans in the league. Pau Gasol is still getting it done, Vince Carter can still get up, and Jason Terry is still Jet-Setting.
But Jason Terry has been thinking, maybe it’s time for The Jet to land for the final time. Yesterday we got word that UAB (University of Alabama-Birmingham) are looking at Jason Terry as their new head coach.
Mark Cuban, Mavericks owner, has talked about Terry’s opportunity and can totally see him getting the job.
“You got to prove you can get a job after you’re done (playing),” Cuban said. “I could see Jet being a coach. He knows the game, he’s intense, he communicates well. And guys would relate to him.”
Cuban also said that Terry always will have a job with the Mavericks if he wants it.
I swear whenever we see an old player looking towards retirement we always say “I can see him coaching” or “He could be on TV as an analyst”. Maybe they will leave the game completely?
But in this case, sure, Terry could be a coach, maybe he would like to take a break from the game and then look at coaching? That’s possible but if he wants that UAB job, it’d be a good place to start.
