Mario Chalmers Says Kyrie Irving Will Have To Adjust To LeBron’s Style
The Miami Heat sure have plenty to say about their former teammate, LeBron James, and his new teammates in Cleveland.
Chris Bosh recently gave his thoughts on how new Cavaliers forward Kevin Love will have difficulty adjusting to playing with LeBron and a more talented team, and now Heat point guard Mario Chalmers weighs in on the adjustment for Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving.
Via Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com:
LeBron is a dominant player so if he feels like something is not going his way, he’s going to say something about it. For Kyrie, he’s going to have to adjust to that and LeBron is going to have to adjust to Kyrie. It’s going to be a different factor for Kyrie.
Chalmers was the starting point guard for the Miami Heat during LeBron’s four-year tenure, and became known as the butt of criticism from James and Dwayne Wade for his mistakes on the floor. He’s right, it is a different factor for Kyrie, because to date he’s the best point guard that James has played with since coming into the league.
Irving, like anyone who inherits a teammate such as LeBron James, will certainly have adjusting to do in terms of acclimating to having someone like LeBron on hand. But because of his pure ability, he won’t be yelled at as much as Chalmers was. The complexion of this Cavaliers team varies from what we saw in Miami, and the difficulty to adjust may not be as prominent as LeBron’s former teammates think.
Especially when they’re winning games.
