Oh Mario Chalmers. Forever the outsider. In my opinion he’s never quite been in the Miami Heat family. When LeBron was there he was “the little brother”. Before and after LeBron. Mario Chalmers was just there. I still don’t know who he is. Is he a scorer? Is he a passer? Is he just a cog in the Miami Heat machine? All these years and I still have no idea what he’s doing in the Miami Heat squad.
And now. According to the Miami Herald. He doesn’t know either.
“I don’t even really know what my role is on this team anymore,” Chalmers told the Miami Herald. “I don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing.”
After Wade’s injury in the second quarter, Chalmers backed up both Goran Dragic and rookie Tyler Johnson, who started the second half at shooting guard.
Chalmers wasn’t complaining about his role on Thursday in that visiting locker room in Cleveland. He just couldn’t really explain it.
“I don’t know,” Chalmers said. “It’s something I’ve never experienced before. This is something new to a lot of people on this team, but we’ve got to make it work.”
Chalmers needs new scenery. Look at Norris Cole. He’s in New Orleans now and is doing well. I’ve wanted Chalmers out of Miami for years now. He has shown 0 growth for years and I’m done with having a point guard that can’t average at least 8 assists per game.
