Current free agent, and former Miami Heat and Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mario Chalmers has been cleared to return to the hardwood, per Chalmers’ Twitter account:
Finally cleared to get back on the court. This been a long ass 5 months man. But we don't kill u make u stronger. #backlikeineverleft

Chalmers was acquired by the Grizzlies from Miami last November. Chalmers played in Memphis until he ruptured his right achilles tendon in March, and was promptly waived.
Assuming that he is, as he claims, healthy, whichever team signs him will be getting a steal of a backup point guard. Chalmers was an important role player on the “big three” era Heat teams that won two championships.
Chalmers isn’t quite a starting quality point guard, but he’s one of the better backups in the league (assuming that his achilles injury doesn’t further hold him back). Teams that could use a backup point guard like Chalmers include the Cleveland Cavaliers, Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, the Washington Wizards, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, and Houston Rockets. Chalmers shouldn’t have an issue finding a spot on an NBA roster.
Last season in 55 games for Memphis, Chalmers averaged 10.8 points, 3.8 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game while shooting a .417/.326/.827.
