I certainly did not see this collaboration coming but it is here. Mariah Carey is back with her ‘I Don’t’ (Remix). The original version featured Mimi and YG and now for the remix, she enlists the talents of Remy Ma. Now I know what you guys are thinking, “How did this even come about?” Well if you remember vividly, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj had an issue in the past during their stint on American Idol. So with Remy Ma coming on board, it can easily be seen as two of Nicki’s foes joining forces.
In terms of a remix, things stay the same, Mariah’s verses, the beat, hook and even YG’s contribution. The only upgrade to the record is the addition of Remy Ma’s verse. Speaking of her verse, it’s cool, can easily be seen as a radio friendly verse which means no real noticeable jabs at Nicki. Now I would be foolish if I said there wasn’t at least a line or two that can be considered a reference towards the leader of the Barbz.
The song will be officially available Friday but has surfaced across seas. Spotify and Apple Music are on deck so make sure you stream or purchase the ‘I Don’t’ (Remix). Lastly, if you haven’t seen the visual for the original version yet make sure you do that too.
