DC’s upcoming Birds of Prey movie officially has a title. Star Margot Robbie posted a picture of the script’s first page to Instagram today, with a handwritten note revealing the full title.
See the post below:
Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is an obvious jab at former-Batman Micheal Keaton’s 2014 film Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). The movie will apparently draw from the 2016 ’emancipation of Harley Quinn’ storyline from the comics. The story sees Harley Quinn break off her longtime relationship with the Joker for being too abusive and toxic.
Not much else is known about plot specifics except for the characters involved in the team up. Robbie will return as Harley Quinn for the Suicide Squad spin-off/sequel. Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jurnee Smollet-Bell, Rosie Perez, and Ella Jay Basco will join Robbie as Huntress, Black Canary, Renee Montoya, and Cassandra Cain, respectively. Ewan McGregor will star opposite the team as longtime Batman villain, Black Mask.
Christina Hodson wrote the script for the movie, Cathy Yan is directing. Birds of Prey (And The Fabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) will hit theaters February 7th, 2020.
