Marcus Camby is set to return for the Knicks in tomorrow’s Christmas Day game against the Lakers at Staples Center. Camby has missed the past12-games for New York with plantar fasciitis, but now in the wake of Rasheed Wallace’s foot problems, and the heavy minutes played by Tyson Chandler, the 39-year old Camby feels it’s the right time to return. He received a cortisone injection last week to help ease the pain.
“I’m ready to compete,” Camby said. “We have to find time to get Tyson some rest. He’s been playing exceptional basketball. We need to find time to get him minutes. No one’s pain free at this point no matter how many cortisone shots you take to mask things.”
