During Marcus Camby’s first stint with the New York Knicks he helped them reach the NBA Finals in 1999. The franchise is hoping that lightening will strike twice now the veteran defensive specialist has returned to The Garden.
Camby, 38, will arrive in New York on a three-year deal, worth $13 million, although only $10 million of that is guaranteed. To get their man the Knicks lost a large chunk of their young players, giving up Toney Douglas, Josh Harrellson and seldom used Jerome Jordan.
The Knicks also gave up two second-round picks to the Rockets.
