Marcin Gortat once again decided to step his game up to the next level in the Wizards 106-99 win over Toronto. After dominating Indiana in their playoff series last season, Gortat is showing just how much he learned since his dominating performances against Indiana. Gortat willed the Wizards to a win, and dominated the Raptors from the first whistle to the final horn.
Gortat led the team with 24 points on 11/15 shooting, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks. Gortat never missed a beat and continued to be a dominating force in the paint that Washington could rely on whenever they needed a basket. Having a presence in the pain that can score as well as Gortat is a luxury that is valuable whenever the Wizards are in need of a good look.
Gortat has been doing exactly what has been needed of his so far this season, and will look to continue his hot streak when the Wizards look to sweep the Raptors on Sunday. If Gortat can put together another performance like this one, the sweep will come easily.
