Chicago Bulls big man Pau Gasol has aged remarkably well. Gasol will turn 36 in July, and just wrapped up his 15th NBA season. Still, Gasol once again had a great season: 16.5 points, 11 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 2.0 blocks in 31.8 minutes per game. Gasol’s still got it, and despite his age, there are plenty of teams who would love to sign him to a deal once his current contract expires. The Bulls have him locked up through 2016-17, and after that he’ll be a free agent. Where will he go from there? Nobody knows, but his younger brother Marc has a guess:
Marc Gasol on Pau Gasol's future: "If I had to guess — not that I've talked to him about it — would be San Antonio."

Seeing Gasol go play for the Spurs would make total sense. With Tim Duncan likely to retire soon(he turned 40 today), the Spurs could use an experienced skilled big like Gasol to pair with LaMarcus Aldridge down low. That frontcourt wouldn’t be elite defensively, but would be very hard to stop on the other end. Aldridge and Gasol are two of the best midrange shooters in the NBA, and both are skilled post scorers. Plus, Gasol’s a superb passer. He just feels like a ‘Spurs’ sort of player, you know? Experienced, high IQ, can score and pass.
UPDATE:
Marc thinks that Pau should play for the Spurs:
Marc Gasol: "My advice to Pau, at his age with the things he cares about, not that (we've talked); my advice would be to go to San Antonio."

Marc Gasol, on why Pau should sign w/ SA: "The way (the Spurs) manage everything, they way they work as a franchise from top to bottom…"

Remarkable to me that Marc advised Pau to sign with San Antonio. He was not joking. Never seen a player advise another to sign with a rival.
