I wonder if teams just call up other teams just to inquire about potential deals. Anybody seen ‘Moneyball’? Remember that scene where Beane (Pitt) called up another franchise to talk trades as if they were talking about trading cards instead of real people? I can really imagine a GM just casually ringing another team to go “How do you feel about this player?”.
I mean at that point it’s just talking right? I bet you that the Grizzlies will hit up the Bulls and go “So how you feeling with Pau?”. It’s not asking for a deal. Just talking.
I only bring up this subject because Marc Gasol talks about going for brother Pau as if it’s a usual topic.
It’s not impossible that one day we could play together. I think he has two more years in Chicago and I think it’s difficult that he would leave the team, I wouldn’t like it. But for us, and for Memphis to add someone like Pau, it would be unbelievable. We will try. Why not?
Why not? That’s exactly what I’m on about, why not? Just inquire! Or wait until Pau is a free agent. Let the brothers retire together, that’ll be a cool story.
