Manu Ginobili is regarded as a legend of Argentinian basketball. The fact that he was picked late in his Draft but managed to accomplish so much in the NBA and in FIBA competition is completely warranted. He totally deserves the statue.
The highlight of his international career was in the 2004 Olympics where he lead Argentina to Gold in men’s basketball. Considering USA’s stranglehold of the sport, that’s quite a feat and is a big reason why he is Argentine royalty.
