Jackson was a key member of the Broncos Super Bowl winning team scoring a defensive touchdown during the game. The deal will make Jackson the 4th highest paid defensive end in NFL history. The deal is expected to be for 6 seasons and came to formation late last night.
The Broncos, Chicago Bears and Oakland Raiders were also bidding as they were considered the other serious suitors. Denver had offered Jackson a deal worth 11-12 million per year so it appears Jacksonville topped their offer. Jacksonville has had a history of signing Broncos players such as Zane Beadles and Julius Thomas.
In 2015 the former Nebraska alum recorded 45 tackles and 5 sacks, He finished the season as the 16th best defensive end according to Pro Football Focus.
*Update: The terms of the deal have been announced. Jackson will receive $15 million annually over 6 years.
