Milwaukee Bucks second-year guard Malcolm Brogdon will return to the floor Monday after missing the past 28 games with a torn quad, Brogdon tells Matt Velazquez of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel:
“Close, but we realized I wasn’t quite there,” Brogdon said when asked he close he got to playing Saturday in New York. “Just got to wait. I’ll be back Monday.”
Brogdon, who won the 2017 Rookie of the Year Award, is making his return at the perfect time for the Bucks; the team has just two regular-seaosn games remaining, and the playoffs start on April 14.
The Bucks’ plan is likely to get Brogdon’s feet wet in these last two games so he can shake off the rust that comes with missing over two months of action before the playoffs begin.
Brogdon was the Bucks’ primary starter at point guard until they acquired Eric Bledsoe in November.
Brogdon has played 46 games for the Bucks this season, including 20 starts. In those 46 contests, he has averaged 13.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 30.5 minutes, while shooting an efficient 48.7 percent from the field.
