It looks like Dr Alan Grant and company will not return for ‘Jurassic World’.
In an interview with IGN, Colin Trevorrow, writer and director of the sequel, confirmed that several stars from the previous films including Sam Neill, Jeff Goldbloom and Laura Dern will not be making an appearance.
“I know a lot of fans want to see the original characters back. They’re iconic. But I respect those actors too much to shoehorn them into this story for my own sentimental reasons,” said Trevorrow. “Jurassic Park’ isn’t about the bad luck of three people who keep getting thrown into the same situation. The only reason they’d go back to that island is if the screenwriters contrived a reason for them to go.”
Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins are confirmed for the film. Plot details have been scarce.
‘Jurassic World’ will hit theaters in June 2015.
