In today’s music industry, it’s difficult to remain relevant. With the amount of music that’s released everyday, it’s easy to be lost in the shuffle of Soundcloud rappers and upcoming industry plants. Nevertheless, it’s even harder to get a big hit and not rush things. In 2015, MadeinTYO jumped on to the scene with his hit single, “Uber Everywhere”. Soon after, the Atlanta based artist came back with a remix to the original track and a new single with Big Sean called “Skateboard P”. The next logical step would be to rush an album out. However, the Atlanta based artist took his time and worked on build a sound and a fan base. With five projects under his belt, the 2017 XXL Freshman is ready to make that next step in his career.
Three years after releasing the original video for “Uber Everywhere”, MadeinTYO is back with his debut album Sincerely, Tokyo. The rapper’s debut studio album consists of fourteen tracks and features from A$AP Ferg, Tinashe, Blood Orange, Roy Woods, Gunna and 24hrs. The Hawaii born rapper described the project by saying, “I know it’s been a min since I dropped my last project. [I’ve] been learning about myself as an artist, a friend [and] a father.” He later added, “This album is for my fans [and] a mixture of some of my friends that are helping me grow musically.” Stream the entire album above and let us know what you think.
